How to Create a Miniature Effect on any Clip:
Step 1:
- Import your Clip
- Create a Solid Layer
Step 2:
- Go to “Effects” Panel
- Add the Effect “Gradient Ramp” on the Solid
- Change the value of the Start of Ramp to cover the Horizon and half of the skyscrapers’ Height
- Change the value of the End of Ramp to the opposite side of the Start of Ramp
- Place the Solid under the Clip
Step 3:
- Go to “Effects” Panel
- Add the Effect “Camera Lens Blur” on the Clip
- Change the Blur Radius to 20
- Link the Blur Map Layer to the Solid
- Select Effects and Masks instead of Source
- adjust the Blur Focal Distance depending on your clip to only Blur your foreground and background, keeping the middle focused
